At heart, Deanna Olsen will always be an educator. That's how she began her professional life, and even after more than 35 years as an award-winning financial advisor, she enjoys guiding her clients and their families through their important financial decisions. That's why Deanna's clients look to her to help them simplify their financial lives, to take the mystery out of planning so they can make educated decisions. Deanna strives to help her clients achieve a complete understanding of every aspect of their financial plans—total clarity of what they're doing and why. She feels successful when they "get it” and act accordingly to help make their plans a reality.
As a Certified Financial Planner®, she upholds the standard of excellence in financial planning. CFP professionals meet rigorous education, training and ethical standards, and are committed to serving their clients’ best interests. She has a thorough understanding of, and many years of experience in asset management planning, estate and tax planning concepts, retirement planning and special needs trusts. Deanna also holds the Chartered Special Needs Consultant designation, and specializes in assisting individuals with disabilities and families who have children with special needs. Deanna’s passion for helping is especially evident when she works with these families. "My purpose and my passion”, she says, "is to make a difference.”
Deanna's achievements in the financial services industry are impressive. She has also earned designations as a Chartered Financial Consultant, Chartered Life Underwriter and holds a Certification in Long Term Care.
Deanna is well-known as an active leader in her community. She is member of the Clarkston Area Chamber of Commerce and Clarkston United Methodist Church. Deanna has served as a past member of the Board of Directors of Clarkston State Bank, a past treasurer and board member of SCAMP, a summer camp for children with special needs, past treasurer and a board member of the Clarkston Foundation - for the enhancement of children's educational interests, and past board member of Oakland University Financial Planning Advisory Council.
Deanna is a graduate of Michigan State University and holds a master’s degree from the University of Michigan. Outside of work, Deanna maintains an active lifestyle, enjoys hiking, travel, and spending time with her family.
