At heart, Deanna Olsen will always be a teacher. That's how she began her professional life, and even after more than 25 years as a financial advisor, she sees her role as that of an educator. That's why Deanna's clients look to her to help them simplify their financial lives; to take the mystery out of planning so they can make educated decisions. Like a professor, Deanna strives to help her clients achieve a complete understanding of every aspect of their financial plans – total clarity of what they're doing and why. She feels successful when they "get it” and act accordingly to help make their plans a reality.
Growing up in a family of teachers, Deanna always knew she'd follow in her parents' footsteps. Her achievement of a master's degree and her love of an active lifestyle led her to a career teaching physical education and health, and coaching basketball, volleyball and softball. While her background was math and science, she was intrigued by an ad from Massachusetts Mutual Life Insurance Company (MassMutual) recruiting teachers, coaches and sales people for financial services careers. Deanna soon realized that as a financial advisor, she could use her skills and knowledge to help change people's lives for the better and achieve success for herself along the way.

While she's not anywhere near thinking about retirement, she's looking ahead to the possibility that one or both of her daughters will join her in business. If that happens, Deanna will pass along the lesson she learned from her parents and mentors – the critical importance of doing the right thing to change lives for the better. She likes to say, "If you do the right thing, good things happen.” For Deanna, these aren't just words; it's the way she lives every day.
